Left to Right: Dave Spreiter (52), Ted Spreiter (54) and Steve Spreiter (56).  The Spreiter boys of the early 50’s were outstanding all around athletes at Hector High School. Dave and Ted played on the 1952 District 12 Runner Up team. Steve was an All Conference selection in football for their undefeated football team, led the conference in scoring and made All Conference in basketball, and was one of the outstanding pitchers in the area for the conference champion baseball team.

The Torbert Brothers were outstanding linemen for the Bulldogs in the mid and late 1950’s.  All of the brothers were built low to the ground and were known for their strength and quickness.  Left to Right:: Gary (55), Gene (57), Arden (59), and Morris (60).

Fosland, Johnson, and Torbert were part of the best set of linemen in conference history.  Halfbacks, Haspert and Jurisch, were first and second in the conference in scoring.

In the Region 3 Tournament the Bulldogs lost to Sanborn 2-1.  During the Region Tournament, the HHS senior class trip took place.  Only senior pitcher Ted Hauer stayed behind. The Bulldogs played the game with five “B” squad players.

Armand Peterson (59) was an outstanding catcher in the conference in the late 50’s.  He caught for the 1958 District Champions and for the 1959 Conference Runner Ups.

Jeff Johnson (58) was one of the best all around athletes in the area.  Johnson was an offensive linemen for most of his football career, but filled in at quarterback for one game when Lee Raitz was injured.

Ted Hauer (58) was an All Conference halfback in 1957, but was better known as a hard throwing pitcher for the Bulldogs.

1963 212 Conference All Conference football players. Halfback, Larry Radloff, Linebacker Eugene Buboltz, and Halfback Jim (Todd) Macik.  Radloff and Macik are considered to be the best pair of halfbacks ever to play in the 212 Conference.  Both gained over a 1,000 yards and scored over 100 points in their senior year.

Larry Radloff (64) won 85% of his wrestling matches in the early 60s. He was the Region 3 Champion in the 175 pound weight class in 1963 and 1964.

The Hauer Brothers

Ted (58) was an All Conference halfback in 1957.  In baseball, he was one of outstanding pitchers in the area.

Twin brothers Duane and Dave (69) were excellent four sport athletes who excelled in all sports.  Both were All Conference Football and Basketball players, standouts on the championship baseball team, and ran on the record setting Mile Relay Team.  They were key members of the Class of 1969 athletic teams which dominated  212 Conference athletics.

Tim DeGroat (67) was the oldest of the three brothers (Mark and Ken) that completed for HHS.  Tim was an All Conference football player and a conference and district wrestling champion.

Karl Dickman (67) was a two time All Conference football and basketball player.  An outstanding passer, he was best known for great punting.

Don Cunningham (67) was an All Conference guard on the undefeated Bulldog football team in 1966.

Coach Perry Doney, Greg Kragenbring and Neil Christensen moments after their District 12 victory in 1968.  Doney was a 1926 graduate of HHS. A veteran coach of many years, he returned home and led the Bulldogs to three straight 212 Conference Championships in 1967, 1968 and 1969.

Neil Sing (69) is one of the elite athletes in conference history.  Sing scored 19 touchdowns his senior year, six against Fairfax in the first game of the season.

Mark Peterson (70) was an All Conference football player in 1969.  In wrestling he was the 212 Conference, District 12 and Region 3 Champion.

Football captains, Jeff Heerdt and Rick Estenson.  Heerdt was a two time All Conference Football Player and Estenson was one of the leading passers in football and scorers in basketball in the conference

Shawn Specht (71) was one of the top basketball scorers in the Conference in 1970 and 1971.  He was a two All Conference selection in Basketball.
