In District 12 action Renville beat Bird Island, Norwood and Olivia in the district finals.  Sacred Heart was upset by Olivia, 49-48 in the semi final round.  In the first game of the Region 3 tournament at Montevideo, Renville was upset by Clara City, 66-65.  Both teams were undefeated going into the region tournament.  The game was considered to be one of the all time classic games in Region Three history.  Marshall beat Clara City in the finals to win the region.  Senior, Greg Mulder, finished his career with 1,480 points, the most points scored by any Renville basketball player in school history.  Senior point guard, Don (Skip) Dolan finished his career with 1,017 points.  In the four years that Dolan and Mulder competed at the varsity level, Renville had an 89-8 record.
