1950 Conference Champions:  Danube Hawks

The Danube Hawks dominated the 212 Conference by going undefeated with a 7-0 record.  Stewart finished with a 6-1 record and runner up in the conference.  Stewart and Danube did not play during the regular schedule.  Danube's toughest game during the season was a 15-12 win over Hector.  In the game, Hector took the lead in the 1st quarter.  Marv Standfuss scored a touchdown and the extra point early in the 2nd quarter to give Danube the lead, 8-6.  Hector came right back and marched the ball 75 yards for the the go ahead touchdown.  With 45 seconds remaining in the first, junior quarterback, Rod Black threw a 30 yard touchdown pass to freshman end, Larry Good, to give the Hawks a 15-12 lead.  The score remained the same for rest of the game.

The 1950 Danube Hawks were considered to be the best team in DHS football history.  They were bigger than other teams in the conference, and had outstanding athletes that would go on to win the conference in basketball.   Junior Fullback, Marv Standfuss led the team in scoring with 12 touchdowns.  Standfuss, Jim Goetzman, Clarence Seehusen and Dick Filzen were voted to the All Conference team.

Seehusen was voted to the 1950 All State Football Team.
